By reducing the cost of original spare parts and maintenance, Volkswagen aims to lower the cost of ownership of its vehicles. With these new initiatives, the company wants to attract more buyers to its product portfolio, especially the upcoming Taigun SUV.
It is clear that Volkswagen has a very clear vision and increased focus on capturing more of the Indian car market. Seeing the high demand for compact SUVs, the company will launch Taigun, a product manufactured on the MQB-A0-IN platform which has been specifically developed for India. In a bid to attract more and more customers to its next product, the company announced lower service costs for all its cars and new initiatives for better customer support.
It’s no secret that the cost of maintenance and spare parts for Volkswagen cars is a little more expensive compared to some other brands. But Volkswagen aims to change that with this announcement. The company said that original spare parts for their cars will now be cheaper than before. The price reduction could be up to 11 percent. Similarly, the cost of engine oil has fallen by almost 32%. Engine oil is something that is topped up or changed frequently in auto service and hence it would save the customer a lot of money over a period of time. According to the company, these cost changes mean that the cost of maintaining a Polo or Vento drops by 23-25%, depending on the variant. These discounts will also apply to the company’s future SUV, Taigun. Even older vehicles like Ameo, Passat, Jetta, Polo GTI and many more can benefit from these new initiatives. Volkswagen currently sells four cars in India – Polo, Vento, T-Roc and Tiguan All space.
Not only that, but the company also has a service cost calculator accessible on the website that will give customers an idea of how much they will need to pay. This also ensures that prices remain uniform across the country. Volkswagen has also introduced a new service called Volkswagen Service Cam, which notifies and requests a customer’s pre-approval of additional repairs that may arise during the inspection via video recording.
Along with this, the company also decided to increase the reach of mobile service units to cover almost 80% of the country. With mobile units, customers can carry out small repairs and inspections at their doorstep. These units will also be able to assist customers who may be stranded in remote locations. Efforts like these will surely increase customer peace of mind.
