A woman who got into a vehicle in Manhattan – thinking it was a car service taking her to Brooklyn – was taken for a wild ride to Forest Hills in the early hours of Sunday where she was assaulted sexually by the driver.
The woman, 33, ended up in the vehicle after trying to hail a taxi on the corner of West 184e Street and St. Nicholas Avenue at approximately 4:45 a.m. A man pulled up in a gray Volkswagen SUV and asked the victim where he was going.
The unidentified driver, however, diverted GPS directions to Brooklyn and took her to Yellowstone Boulevard and 62nd Road. The driver then pulled out a knife and grabbed the woman’s crotch.
The woman managed to escape from the vehicle. The alleged pervert then left the scene in his vehicle.
The victim was not seriously injured but suffered minor hand and foot injuries. She was transported in stable condition by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.
The unidentified man is described as white-Hispanic, 40 to 50 years old, and was wearing a black jacket and black pants. Police released a sketch.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA ( 74782).
