SPOKANE, Wash .– A dive team from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen truck near the Upriver Dam on the Spokane River on Wednesday morning.
At around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Spokane police received a call from a witness who saw the truck floating about 50 feet in the water. Agents said the dive team found the truck in the river about an hour later. He was finally picked up around 8 a.m.
The dive team did not believe anyone was in the truck, but said they found an ATM.
After seeing reports, owners of NextGen Auto Sales called 4 News Now to say the truck was stolen from their repair shop on Tuesday night. They provided surveillance photos of the store that appear to show someone involved.
The owners said the person pictured inspected the store in camouflage uniforms three hours before other people broke in, stole the keys to the truck and removed the rims from a white Subaru.
Police then responded to NextGen to obtain fingerprints. The owners are offering a reward of $ 1,000 to anyone who can identify the man seen in the surveillance photos.
Information to contact NextGen Auto Sales is on their website.
