Hyderabad: Madhapur Police with the help of Special Operations Team, Madhapur Zone, arrested three people who stole Rs. 55 lakh from a car service center in Madhapur. The full amount stolen has been recovered.
The three accused were identified as Mohammed Taher (20), a mechanic, and two 19-year-old students – Syed Jawed and Saif Mohiuddin. All are residents of the Asif Nagar region in the city.
On December 10, police received a complaint from Allam Srikanth Reddy who runs a multi-brand luxury car service center, Sri Motors, located on the 100ft road in Madhapur. He said he kept Rs. 55 lakh in cash in an almirah in the office which was locked by guard Balaraju on the night of December 9. The next day when he came to the store, he found the almirah broken and the money missing.
CCTV footage revealed that a person entered the store by removing the screws from the back door, broke the almirah and stole the money.
Madhapur Police registered a case and with the help of SOT, Madhapur Zone, interviewed the 35 workers at the service center. They suspected Mohammed Taher and interrogated him. Taher admitted to carrying out the burglary with the help of his friends Syed Javed and Saif Mohiuddin.
Police recovered Rs. 20,000,000 each from Taher and Jawed houses and Rs. 15,000,000 from Mohiuddin house.
